Agganis Driving Program

The Most Comprehensive Driving Program in New England

At Agganis Driving School, we take pride in being a family-owned and operated business with a legacy spanning over five decades. Founded in 1970 by my father, our school has trained over 200,000 new drivers, helping them gain the skills and confidence needed for safe and responsible driving.

Since joining the business in 1989, I, along with my brother, two sisters, and my wife, have been dedicated to ensuring the highest standards in driver education. Our unique program combines decades of expertise with exclusive materials designed to advance and refine the training process.

Driving is one of the most dangerous activities we perform daily, which is why we emphasize thorough training. Our 52-point behind-the-wheel evaluations ensure that every student masters essential maneuvers while actively engaging in their learning. To support parents in meeting the required 40 additional hours of practice for a Massachusetts driver’s license, we provide a comprehensive Parent Training Guide. This guide explains our proven training methods and helps parents feel confident during practice sessions.

To further support learning, we offer a “Driver in Training” magnet, which can be attached to vehicles to alert other drivers that a new driver is behind the wheel.

Our exclusive interactive PowerPoint presentation enhances the educational experience, both in the classroom and online, offering students a clear and engaging way to learn.

Safety is at the core of our program. Our fleet of instructional vehicles is equipped with advanced safety features, including passenger-side brake pedals for instructors, dual cameras, and tracking devices. These tools enhance safety and provide a controlled environment for effective learning.

Our instructors are carefully chosen for their expertise and dedication. They include public school teachers, special education teachers, police officers, firefighters, and Class A truck drivers. Each instructor undergoes rigorous screening, including CORI checks and driving record reviews every six months, ensuring the highest standards of professionalism and safety.

At Agganis Driving School, we are committed to delivering a safe, effective, and innovative driver education program. We look forward to helping you or your loved one become a confident and responsible driver.

Intensive Behind-The-Wheel Training

I think that this course helped me so much. It taught me all of the things of the road that I didn’t understand from reading the drivers manual.

Which Teaching Method Do You Trust More: Hands On or Simulation?

Some people avoid highway driving for years because no one showed them how to enter onto a highway, make lane changes, deal with speeding drivers, or share the road with large trucks.

Not all schools provide behind-the-wheel driver instruction for highways, rotaries, or other challenging road situations. Some driving schools offer it upon request and make you pay extra. Other schools set up simulated environments in parking lots.

Agganis knows that defensive driving can only be taught in real-life driving situations not parking lots.

Each student spends 12 Hours hands-on-experience, behind-the-wheel training in real traffic, on real roads combining basic, advanced, & DEFENSIVE driving techniques. PLUS 6 hours of student observation.

It taught me many lessons about driving, and also many lessons about life and how valuable it is.

I think the course was a great course, it made me look at driving a whole other way. I also thought it was good how Chris emphasized not to drink & drive and when the Trooper came in and talked to the class, it made me really think about the consequences. I liked the teaching style and how Chris can relate to us. The only thing I didn’t like about the class was the annoying girl who sat in the back.
